Welcome to the Southern Stockhorse Association
The Southern Stockhorse Association was established for the sole purpose of promoting the versatile stock horse through shows and other promotions. We believe in the idea that you should be able to enjoy your horse in multiple events. Our rules are simple and dedicated to people having fun with their horses.
Our definition of a stockhorse is one that is willing to do multiple tasks for its rider in a calm and willing manner. In stockhorse shows we offer a variety of classes from pleasure, trail, cutting and roping to speed events. Every stockhorse season will offer an award for the most versatile horse and rider combination in Open, Amateur, and Youth divisons.
The Southern Stockhorse Association is currently petitioning the following organizations for alternative points for their respective breeds. (www.apha.com/pac) (www.arabianhorses.org) (www.appaloosa.com)
All shows begin promptly at 5:00 p.m. on Fridays, 8:00 a.m. on Saturdays and 9:00 a.m. on Sundays.
Cowboy Church is 8:00 to 9:00 a.m. on Sunday morning.
INFORMATION ABOUT OUR WEB SITE
For information about upcoming events and event forms, click on the "Upcoming Events" link. Each event will have an Event Name, Date, Place, & Form column. The events 'name' is a link to a printable page with all of the information regarding that event. The 'Form' column is a link to a printable form that is to be used for that event.
To view the results from a past event, click on the "Event Results" link. Again, there will be columns with the Event Name, Date, and Results. For more information about the past event, click on the events 'name.'
